About Me

As a child, drawing was my safe place; this theme has been a constant thread in my life. I have a BA in Fine Art Painting, a qualification in Mental Health Problems and a PGCERT in Teaching in Higher Education. Apart from running creative wellbeing workshops, including social prescribing, charity work and my own groups, I am a freelance illustrator. With a strong leaning towards Neurodiversity and mental health, my work is rich in metaphor. I was shortlisted in the top 5 inaugural ‘Womankind’ Magazine Art and Illustration Awards 2019. I have since been commissioned to illustrate for Oh Magazine (Issue 55) and featured in Dream Broad (Issue 4) in the USA. I am also the author of ‘My Wellbeing Art Journal’ and ‘Exploring You Journal’, both available worldwide on Amazon. In 2023, I held the ‘Unmasked’ solo show at Bradford Industrial Museum, which recorded a footfall of 8,968 during the exhibition's run.

My Style

With my background in Fine Art Painting, my style is influenced by other narrative artists such a Paula Rego and Frida Kahlo, and I use traditional methods of drawing and painting to represent subject matter. I mainly use biro, acrylic paint and coloured pencils, but sometimes also use watercolour.
